Social Distortion's third eponymous album from 1990 turned out to be their best-known work and would come to spawn the most hits, with singles "Ball And Chain", "Story Of My Life" and the Johnny Cash cover "Ring Of Fire". It mixed Punk with Rockabilly, Blues & Country, and split the difference between Rockabilly and Ramones-style Punk.

Sixteen Horsepower were a Denver-based alternative country band that revolved around the unique songwriting and singing of David Eugene Edwards. The band made its name with music that combined rural backwoods kitsch with edgy, off-kilter country-rock. Sackcloth 'n' Ashes is their first full length album and was originally released in 1996. Driven by fiddles, a bizarre sense of humor, and punk-inflected country-rock, Sackcloth 'n' Ashes, is a weirdly captivating listen. Nearly every song is a strange, backwoods fable, delivered with clever irony that never undercuts the essential, disturbing intentions of the songs.

Low Estate is the 2nd album from 16 Horsepower; the Denver-based Alt-Country rock group revolving around the ingenious songwriting and vocals from David Eugene Edwards, also known for Woven Hand. Armed with banjos, accordions, slide guitars, violins and a heartfelt croon, the band are considered to be at the peak of their powers on Low Estate, with soundscapes are rich in darkness and mystery, accentuating the uniqueness of the group that lived on in Woven Hand.
