The successful progressive metal band Dream Theater released their debut studio album When Dream and Day Unite in 1989. With Charlie Dominici on vocals they took their first step in becoming one of the best known artists in the progressive metal scene.

The popular Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler recorded her fifth studio album Faster Than The Speed Of Night in 1982-1983. She worked together with record producer Jim Steinman, who also wrote two new songs

Freak Show is the second album - after their debut Frogstomp- by the popular Australian band Silverchair, which charted in different lists all over the world (US, UK, Australia, Canada and many more). This post-grunge album is more versatile in comparison to their earlier work and it marks the beginning of the definitive band sound.

Daylight Again followed CSN in 1982, which featured backing vocals from musicians like Art Garfunkel and Timothy B. Schmit of Eagles. It was almost recorded without Crosby, but as the album progressed, he was invited into the sessions – bringing two of his own tracks which made the track list.
