This album from 1990 marks the return of Ritchie Blackmore. Longtime Purple followers where more than happy with the return of Blackmore. "King Of Dreams", "The Cut Runs Deep", and "Fire In The Basement" are all classic Deep Purple tracks. Blackmore's guitar solos and Lord's keyboard runs harp back to the Deep Purple of old. The album sounds like a cross between Rainbow and a Deep Purple album

Surfing With The Alien is Satriani's second album, released in 1987 and meant his breakthrough to a larger audience. It was the first instrumental Rock record to enter the charts in a very long time. Although the album contains fast and complex songs as well as slower, melodic songs Satriani's unique style is always easily recognizable.
